Reasons why I beloved my lightbox:

Today I want to watercolor a floral composition but already have a design in listen. There are many means you tin transfer your design onto watercolor or mixed media newspaper- but I prefer using a lightbox. The Cricut Brilliant pad I am using today is really piece of cake to use- it is calorie-free, portable and best of all comes with adjustable brightness. The paper I am planning to use today is a SUPER thick 350lb thickness mixed media paper and this low-cal pad worked similar a charm!

Other than watercoloring you will be amazed at how many other ways you can employ your light box! You lot tin use them to trace over your hand lettering, to weed out your intricate cutting vinyl.

How to apply a lightbox for tracing your designs:

How to use a light box for tracing

  1. Choose a design, pencil sketch or impress out and resize to the right size you demand.
  2. Identify your pattern onto the lightbox and then place your watercolor or mixed media paper on acme. I like to use some masking or washi tape at the superlative to record these two together.  You practice not need to record this to the lightbox itself. It is easier to tape merely those two together and be able to angle them while painting or drawing.
  3. Turn on your lightbox and arrange effulgence until you are comfortably able to encounter the design without straining your eyes.
  4. Turn off your room light if yous need to exercise more detailed work or are unable to easily see the fine details of your design.
  5. One of my biggest tips for you lot- go on your lightbox and piece of work at a 45-degree angle while working. Keep moving your light pad equally you work instead of trying to move your paw around the corners.
  6.  Finally, there is no right or incorrect manner here. Yous can trace your blueprint with a light pencil first and then paint information technology in or as I exercise you can directly paint your design to reach a no-line image transfer.

Here is a quick kickoff to finish video of my procedure.
